  2. UML Distilled: A Brief Guide to the Standard Object Modeling Language (3rd Edition) by Martin Fowler is the best book about UML, because it is very short!
  3. The Unified Modeling Language User Guide (2nd Edition) by UML’s main contributors Grady BoochJames RumbaughIvar Jacobson is a 2nd-to-read book about UML.
  4. Available in multiple languages, good examples, and good explanations, but poor cross-refferencing: UML@MSDN.microsoft.com
  5. Brief guidelines to diagrams and good examples of diagrams, but no cross-refferencies among terms: SparxSystems.com
  6. More advanced concepts of UML together with Object-oriented analysis and design processes:
    1. UML 2 and the Unified Process: Practical Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (2nd Edition) by Jim ArlowIla Neustadt
    2. Applying UML and Patterns: An Introduction to Object-Oriented Analysis and Design and Iterative Development (3rd Edition) by Craig Larman
